Cabbage and Ground Beef
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 to 1 head of cabbage
1-2 T. water
Directions:
Salt and pepper ground beef and place in large frying pan to brown on medium heat. Add onion to ground beef. Once beef is browned and onion has begun to soften, reduce heat to medium-low.
Cut cabbage into strips/shreds while beef is browning. Place cabbage in separate pan with a 1-2 tablespoons of water and cover, over med-low heat. This will wilt the cabbage. Wilt the cabbage for 7-10 minutes, based on your taste preference. Place wilted cabbage on top of ground beef and mix well.
We love this recipe and depending on how much cabbage you use, this recipe can feed up to 8 people. It is very filling and very inexpensive. It really functions as a one course meal, but we often pair it with some type of roll or bread.
